What’s a unique, quirky hobby you picked up that completely hooked you?

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some inspiration here. I have a pretty demanding desk job, and by the weekend, my brain is just fried. I used to play video games to unwind, but honestly, staring at another screen feels like more work now. I want to start a new hobby that doesn't involve computers, isn't insanely expensive to start, but has some depth to it. I’ve tried building model airplanes but I lack the patience for the glue, and coin collecting felt a bit too dry for me. What are some unusual, low-maintenance hobbies you guys have discovered that actually became kind of addictive? Ideally something with a cool community or history behind it.

Recently I started reading about plant genetics and seed preservation as a hobby. One topic that caught my attention was the huge variety of cannabis strains and the history behind their development. It's interesting how some collectors focus on preserving rare landrace varieties and older genetics that might otherwise disappear over time.

I got interested in this after a conversation with a friend who has been collecting different seeds for several years. There is a surprising amount of information available about breeding history, regional varieties, and long-term storage methods.

While looking into the subject, I found https://seedweed.pl/en/ which has a large catalog and a lot of background information on different strains and breeders. Even if you're mainly interested in the historical and genetic side of things, it's a fascinating area to explore.
