Is waterproofing necessary for older homes?
I live in an older house and started wondering if waterproofing is something I should consider. The basement hasn’t had major issues, but I know older foundations can be more vulnerable. I’m trying to decide if it’s better to act early or wait for signs of trouble. At the same time, I don’t want to invest unnecessarily. It’s difficult to judge based on age alone. What would you recommend in this case?

A well-protected basement adds both stability and value to a home. Buyers are far more confident when they know there are systems in place to prevent water damage. It’s one of those upgrades that pays off quietly over time. I was reading through basement waterproofing contactors and it reinforced how important it is to think about prevention rather than repair.
