Can herbal medicine really replace conventional treatments for common issues?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately because over the past year I’ve tried to rely more on natural remedies for small health issues. For example, I used to get frequent headaches and would automatically take painkillers, but recently I switched to herbal teas and things like peppermint oil. It actually helped sometimes, but not always. That’s why I’m a bit torn — can herbal medicine really replace conventional treatments for everyday problems like stress, headaches, or mild infections? Or is it more of a supportive thing rather than a full replacement? I’d love to hear if anyone here has tried going fully herbal for common issues and what your experience was like.

I get where you're coming from, I went through a similar phase a couple of years ago. I started looking into herbal options mostly because I wanted something gentler for my digestion problems and sleep issues. What I noticed is that herbs can be really effective, but usually not as a complete substitute in every situation. For example, chamomile and valerian helped me sleep better over time, but when I had something more serious, I still needed conventional medicine. I found some useful info and simple explanations on Back To Your Roots Herbs, especially about how different herbs work and when to use them. From my experience, it’s more about balance — using herbs as a daily support and turning to standard treatments when things go beyond mild symptoms.
